Of all seven sacraments, the Holy Eucharist, or Holy Communion, is the most central and important to Catholicism.
Preparation to receive First Communion is a two-year program typically beginning in Grade one. First Communion is celebrated in the spring for children in 2nd grade who have been Baptized. Our Communion Sacrament Preparation Program
Our First Communion Program is a two year program typically beginning in grade 1. Each of our First Communion students is required to complete a first grade curriculum and be able to recite his or her prayers including the Sign of the Cross, the Hail Mary, Our Father, Glory Be and the Act of Contrition.
Our second grade students focus on preparing for the sacrament of First Reconciliation and then preparing for the sacrament of First Communion.
During preparation for the sacrament of Reconciliation students learn about God's great mercy and the power of forgiveness. Students learn the Ten Commandments, how to examine their conscience and to pray the Act of Contrition asking forgiveness of their sins.
During preparation for the sacrament of First Communion students continue to learn the importance of the Mass and the great love Jesus has for them and desire to be one in their hearts. Students learn the parts of the Mass and how to receive Holy Communion.
