Baptism

  • The Holy Sacrament of Baptism is the first of many of the seven Sacraments a Roman Catholic believer will receive.  It's a sacrament of initiation, cleansing, strengthening, and welcoming.  Baptism welcomes us into the community of Christian believers. It offers us a new life in which we become the adopted children of God, followers of Christ, and temples in which the Holy Spirit dwells.  We look forward to baptizing your child.

The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated once a month on a Sunday at 1:00 pm on a date to be determined.    Parents and godparents are expected to attend a short catechesis held on the second Wednesday of each month.   Godparents must be over the age of 18 and have received the Sacrament of Confirmation.  A non-Catholic Christian may serve as a Christian witness in lieu of one godparent.

To schedule a Baptism for your child, please call Lisa Hudson at the rectory (781-665-0152).  She will be happy to give you the scheduled dates of the monthly Baptisms and answer any questions you may have, as well as assist you in filling out the required forms.
